HOV Fendouzhe, is a full-ocean-depth submersible with proprietary intellectual property rights, achieving a domestication rate of 96.5%, which was supported by National Key Research and Development Program of China during “13th Five-year Plan” period (2016-2020). During its sea trail, Fendouzhe reached a depth of 10909m at the bottom of the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench in November, 2020, and set a new depth record of domestic manned submersibles in China. It is delivered to the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and came into service in March 2021.Since its commissioning, Fendouzhe has demonstrated uniquely stable technical performance, robust operational capabilities, highly efficient operational management, and extensive application scenarios and the characteristics of international open - sharing.It has been commended in in President Xi Jinping's 2024 New Year Message.
