    IHEP and CELLS Sign Agreement to Boost Synchrotron Science and Technology
    The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Consortium for the Construction, Equipping and Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Source (CELLS) signed a cooperation agreement on July 26, 2025. The signing ceremony took place in Beijing on the occasion of visit of Mr. Salvador Illa, President of Catalan Government, marking a new chapter in the collaboration on the synchrotron science and technology between China and Spain.

    Brazil and China Launch Joint Laboratory for Synchrotron Science and Technology at CNPEM
    On June 25 and 26, representatives from MCTI, CAS, IHEP and CNPEM convened in Campinas to officially launch the China-Brazil Joint Laboratory for Synchrotron Science and Technology (CBJSync). The inauguration included a plaque unveiling ceremony attended by Andrea Brito Latgé, Secretary of Strategic Policies and Programs at MCTI; Glaucius Oliva, Vice President for São Paulo of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences; Antonio José Roque da Silva, CNPEM’s Director-General; WU Zhaohui, Vice President of CAS; LIU Weidong, Director-General of the Bureau of International Cooperation of CAS; DONG Yuhui, Deputy Director of IHEP.

    Multi-stage Clustering Algorithm Enabling Intelligent Nano-ARPES Experiment
    Recently, the HEPS (High Energy Photon Source) Software for experimental control System and Nano-ARPES (angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy) beamline have made significant progress in automatically categorizing the ARPES spatial mapping dataset using unsupervised clustering method. Researchers have developed a multi-stage clustering algorithm (MSCA) that achieves the clustering analysis both in real space and momentum space in spatially resolved ARPES dataset and successfully distinguishes the monolayer and multilayer of MoS2 and whether it is on different substrates (BN or Au). The related work has been published in "Communications Physics" with the article title "Automatic extraction of fine structural information in angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy by multi-stage clustering algorithm". The research is led by BIAN Lingzhu and LIU Chen, with DONG Yuhui from IHEP and CHEN Zhesheng from Nanjing University of Science and Technology as corresponding authors.

    The third meeting of the International Advisory Committee (IAC) for the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) was held in Huairou from Jan. 14 to 16, followed by a dedicated session for HEPS phase II beamlines on Jan. 17. It was chaired by Harald Reichert from DESY and co-chaired by Alex Chao from SLAC.     Electron Beam in HEPS Storage Ring Exceeds 10mA
    A major milestone was marked in the construction of HEPS on August 18, 2024. Electron beams with currents higher than 10mA were successfully stored in the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) storage ring. This achievement signifies the completion of the accelerator complex and the start of beam commissioning.

    HEPS Storage Ring Installation Completed
    On July 1, the last shielded bellows was connected in the tunnel, completing the installation of the HEPS storage ring and signifying that all components of the HEPS storage ring have been linked up and the storage ring is ready for inter-system commissioning.
