A1 Diamond Anvil Cell Station

May 28, 2025

Introduction

Ultra-low temperature high pressure physical property measurements-diamond anvil cell station has a system equipped by a 14 T helium free superconducting magnet and helium free cryogenics with large inner diameter. The lowest temperature can reach 500 millikelvin. The inner diameter of cryogenics cavity is about 60 millimeters and is suitable for most of varisized high-pressure cells. This system can be used to perform the measurement of high-pressure resistance, magtroresistance, and Hall coefficient. Meanwhile, the state provides users the microscope, Raman spectrometer and beryllium-copper high-pressure cell for the studies on the physical properties of solid materials at extreme conditions.

Parameter

Parameters Maximum pressure Lowest temperature Maximum field Inner diameter of cryogenics cavity Minimum cooling time Maximum holding time
Values 100 Gpa 500 mK 14 T 60 mm ~18 h ~5 h

Characteristic

To simultaneously achieve a magnetic field of 14 T, a temperature of 500 mK, a 60 mm inner diameter of the low-temperature cavity, and a top-loading method, the cryogenic system adopts a multi-stage cooling process with an additional He3 internal circulation refrigeration system. The sample rod of the system is approximately 2.7 meters long, necessitating the use of an overhead crane for sample exchange and loading/unloading.

The experimental station is equipped with commonly used equipment for high-pressure experiments, such as a stereo microscope and a Raman spectrometer, which can be utilized for preparatory work in high-pressure experiments as well as for conducting Raman spectroscopy experiments at high pressure and room temperature.
