Superconducting ECR Ion Source (SECRIS)

Apr 13, 2026

The ion source serves as the starting point of the accelerator complex, which is used to provide high-quality ion beams. It can deliver a wide range of ion species from hydrogen to uranium, with a mass-to-charge ratio M/Q from 2 to 7, and an extraction energy of up 14 keV/u. The system consists of two sources: a high-intensity proton source producing H2+ beam, and a superconducting ECR ion source for highly charged ions. The extracted beams are first accelerated by the iLinac and then injected into the synchrotron for further acceleration and transport.
