The Water Cherencov Detector Array(WCDA), features a 78,000 m² array comprising three adjacent large pools: two with dimensions of 150 m × 150 m and one measuring 300 m × 110 m, all with a uniform depth of 4.5 m. Each pool is subdivided into 3120 cells in size of 5 m × 5 m, each equipped with 2 photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) to detect Cherenkov light produced in the water by secondary particles from extensive air showers (EAS). The detected Cherenkov light is subsequently converted into electrical signals for measurement and analysis.
