Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope

May 28, 2025

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) is a major national science and technology infrastructure project under China's 11th Five-Year Plan. It leverages the natural karst depression in Guizhou as its site to construct the world's largest single-dish radio telescope with extensive sky coverage and high precision. On January 11, 2020, FAST has successfully passed national acceptance and is officially opened for operation.
