From May 20 to May 22,2025 ，the research vessel"Shiyan 1"conducted sea trials for the maintenance and retrofit project"Dynamic Positioning System Upgrade and Retrofit for R/V Shiyan 1"in the Pearl River Estuary waters ，successfully completing the mission and meeting the specifications outlined in the task requirements.

 Following the upgrade of  the R/V "Shiyan 1" dynamic positioning system, positioning capabilities have been enhanced. Seatrials demonstrated that the vessel achieved station-keeping positioning under Sea State 3 conditionswith 1-knot current velocity, with positioning accuracy of less than 20 meters and heading control accuracy of less than 3 degrees, providing assurance for scientific data accuracy and operational safety. The system also features BeiDou positioning signal integration capability, improving system operational reliability.
