The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) is an internationally leading ground-based facility for detecting high-energy gamma rays and cosmic rays. Located at Haizi Mountain in Daocheng County, Sichuan Province, it covers an area of 1.3 square kilometers with an average altitude of 4,410 meters. The facility is operated by the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
