On April 28, the National Primate Facility held its third user academic exchange meeting of 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Researcher Bingyu Mao (KIZ), Professor Ke Ma (Xinhua Hospital), and Professor Youqing Huang (Kunming Medical University). Six experts delivered reports on neurological disease mechanisms, neural modulation, brain-computer interfaces, biomaterials, and analgesic drug development.
Key Presentations:
Yonggang Yao (KIZ): Overview of non-human primate disease models and the Primate Facility’s role in brain disease research.
Yong Han (Shanghai Jiao Tong University): Neural circuit mechanisms regulating feeding behavior.
Ren Lai (KIZ): AI-assisted design of high-activity analgesic cyclic peptide drugs.
Yun Ji (Xinhua Hospital): Closed-loop brain-computer interface system for neuropathic pain.
Keke Wu (Guangzhou Medical University): Polyphenol-based adhesives/hydrogels for tissue repair.
Yu Yin (Shanghai Jiao Tong University): NMR-based sodium ion detection in pain mechanism studies.
Discussions covered clinical translation of neural interventions, cross-species BCI adaptability, and hydrogel mass production. Experts later toured the Primate Facility and National Non-Human Primate Resource Center, proposing collaborations in neurodegenerative diseases and regenerative medicine.
