On May 16, the National Facility for Phenotypic and Genetic Analysis of Model Animals (Primate Facility) at KIZ held its fourth user academic exchange meeting of 2025, focusing on Neural Modulation. The meeting was chaired by Professor Yonggang Yao, a researcher at KIZ and Director of the Primate Facility. Invited keynote speakers included Researcher Zhihai Qiu and Researcher Xinyi Lai from the Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology, and Researcher Tao Song from the Institute of Electrical Engineering, CAS. They explored cutting-edge advances in neural modulation technology, brain-machine intelligence integration, and the mechanisms of magnetic and ultrasonic stimulation.
During the interactive session, participants discussed optimizing ultrasound imaging resolution, algorithmic challenges in multimodal data fusion, and magnetic stimulation’s cross-species adaptability. Experts later visited the facility’s technical platforms and animal breeding areas, expressing interest in deepening collaborations in ultrasound-MRI multimodal imaging and awake-animal neural modulation.
