The fourth meeting of High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) International Advisory Committee (IAC) was held at the HEPS campus, Huairou District, Beijing, on March 25-27, 2026. Chaired by Harald Reichert from DESY and co-chaired by ZHAO Zhentang from SARI, the three-day meeting brought together 21 leading international experts to review the project's progress and future plans.

On October 28, 2025, the "Global Environment Outlook" course of the International College, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), organized a visit for 19 international students to the National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure — the Earth System Numerical Simulation Facility (also known as “Huan”), located in Huairou Science City, Beijing.

The High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) achieved its historical milestone: It passed the performance acceptance organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The finish of acceptance tests puts HEPS at the top list of the world's synchrotron X-ray research facilities, marking one generation leap for China's synchrotron radiation capabilities.

The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Consortium for the Construction, Equipping and Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Source (CELLS) signed a cooperation agreement on July 26, 2025. The signing ceremony took place in Beijing on the occasion of visit of Mr. Salvador Illa, President of Catalan Government, marking a new chapter in the collaboration on the synchrotron science and technology between China and Spain.

On June 25 and 26, representatives from MCTI, CAS, IHEP and CNPEM convened in Campinas to officially launch the China-Brazil Joint Laboratory for Synchrotron Science and Technology (CBJSync). The inauguration included a plaque unveiling ceremony attended by Andrea Brito Latgé, Secretary of Strategic Policies and Programs at MCTI; Glaucius Oliva, Vice President for São Paulo of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences; Antonio José Roque da Silva, CNPEM’s Director-General; WU Zhaohui, Vice President of CAS; LIU Weidong, Director-General of the Bureau of International Cooperation of CAS; DONG Yuhui, Deputy Director of IHEP.

In the frame of the official visit of Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, to China, on April 11, both countries announced a new cooperation in synchrotron light source development.
