KIZ hosted the "International Symposium on Primate Phenotype and Genetics (ISPPG 2024)" to advance global collaboration in primate research. Fourteen experts from the United States, Germany, Spain, Japan, and China presented cutting-edge studies, followed by in-depth discussions.
KIZ Director Yao Yonggang detailed the institute’s development and the Primate Facility’s operational progress, emphasizing its mission to support national research initiatives, attract multidisciplinary talent, and foster international partnerships. He highlighted the facility’s role in driving breakthroughs in life sciences by leveraging China’s primate resources.
The symposium facilitated knowledge exchange on frontier topics in primate phenotyping and genetics. Participants reached consensus on enhancing cross-disciplinary cooperation to propel global non-human primate research forward.
